A modern Wedding Day with retro twists
Rosie and Joe were married in Chesterfield Town Hall with a small number of family to witness their marriage. they then drove over to Peak Edge Hotel where they were greeted by the rest of their wedding guests and enjoyed a cocktail hour, food and dancing.
There’s something so special about their vision for their wedding day. They did exactly what felt right for the both of them. Rosie did her own hair and makeup and opted to not have any “getting ready” photographs, instead keeping this part of her day private and undocumented.
Having an intimate ceremony is a lovely way to take away any anxiety you might have about saying your vows in a room full of people. Rosie and Joe kept this part of their day private with only immediate family and a few friends.
This meant that the rest of their wedding guests were settling into the outside seating area with a beer in hand waiting for the couple to arrive at Peak Edge Hotel.
Rosie and Joe had a few retro touches to their day including Rosie’s beloved pickup truck as their wedding car, orange and yellow colour scheme and a custom veil true to the 80s styles.
Their day was amazing and a true gem to photograph. The whole day felt so in keeping with who they both are as people and as a couple.
When it came to the wedding speeches it was so lovely to see Rosie also deliver a speech. I’m seeing more and more brides do this and it is a modern twist to a traditional day- more brides speeches at wedding days please.
Thank you, Rosie & Joe, for giving me this wonderful opportunity to photograph your wedding day. A wonderful day for a wonderful couple.
Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness.
