Kind Words
“Oh Alex, I’m in absolute bits.
I’ve shared the album with a few people already and they’ve said how amazingly you have captured the whole day and every single emotion!
You are just incredible and the best decision we made in the whole wedding process!
Thank you so much.“
A Sheffield Wedding Day
Molly & Josh had a wedding day that mixed the traditional with the modern.
The morning of their wedding the bride and groom remained traditional with getting ready separately. Molly’s bridesmaid (a talented underwear designer) had made her a custom two piece – we were fortunate enough that the morning didn’t run over and we were able to do a short 5 minute photoshoot with Molly in her bespoke underwear (any bride wanting to do this I highly recommend- so much fun and such a lovely gift for your partner after your wedding day).
Married at St Nicholas Church in Bradfield, Sheffield was a traditional way to start their wedding celebrations. The beautiful rolling countryside surrounds the church and was a sentimental place for the couple. A single harp was played to welcome in guests and the bridal party. The service was intimate and traditional and when finished and the legal papers had be signed we headed outside for confetti and group photos. Then the red double decker bus arrived to take guests down to Peddler in Kelham Island; a huge warehouse which Molly and Josh had designed to be the ultimate party. Molly and Josh had hired a traditional wedding car to give them time together, I followed the car and met them in Kelham Island for the iconic photographs on the bridge.
In true Sheffield style every person that walked past congratulated Molly and Josh and people cheered from the bars. You’ve got to love the sense of community that Sheffield has.
One of the most wonderful things about being a wedding photographer is seeing how couples bring their personalities to their wedding day. Molly and Josh are bold, elegant and fun. Molly’s dress is testament to this- when I saw her in her dress for the first time it was like Audrey Hepburn had been reincarnated as a Yorkshire girl with a modern twist to the styling. I loved that Molly opted for gloves with her wedding dress, too.
There day was so much fun to photograph- during their reception they had speeches followed by food by Greedy Greek, a Photo Booth, a magician and a cigar table. The dance floor then raved with all of their favourite tunes and if I’ve said it once I’ve said it 1,000 times; invest in your DJ/Musicians on your wedding day- they bring the party…and this party bounced!
Thank you, Molly & Josh, for having me!
