A love Story
As I sit here with my mug of steaming tea, seeing the snow flutter down out of my bedroom window, I’m struggling to find a way to explain to you what these wedding portraits mean to me.
I have followed Jay and Sam through their instagram for a few years. Their voice on their social media platform is so incredibly powerful and I was drawn into not only how kind they both are but how creative they are too.
This is probably the simplest of ways to start, when in actual fact they deserve so much more of an introduction, let me try again: In a world where tradition meets modernity, love has no boundaries, and art knows no limits. Meet Jay & Sam, a couple who dared to challenge conventions, rewrite norms, stay positive and kind and redefine romance in the most breathtaking way possible.
Jay and Sam’s love story is not just about their union; it’s a narrative that intertwines history, art, and profound affection—a celebration of their love, their bond, and their shared appreciation for beauty in all its forms. Jay and Sam love literature and art and spend a lot of their time writing. It was with this in mind that brought out this ethereal quality to their portraits.
When creating wedding portraits I love to take inspiration from classical art, particularly the timeless elegance of oil paintings.
Dressed in wedding attire that echoed opulence and the romantic movement, Jay and Sam stepped into a world where time stood still. Their attire, a bold declaration of their love and a tribute to the freedom of expression, is enough to turn heads and hearts alike.
But it isn’t just about the dresses; it is about the symbolism they carry—the breaking of barriers, the shattering of stereotypes, and the celebration of love in its purest form.
Their portraits, reminiscent of Renaissance classics, captured the essence of their love story—a narrative of devotion, resilience, and unwavering commitment. Through the lens of my camera, their love is immortalised, and will inspire generations to come.
