Beautiful wintry backdrops in the Peak District for this years Christmas family session
It’s that wonderful time of year…Christmas! Every year I look forward to the Christmas mini sessions.
These Christmas photoshoots are all about capturing you and your family, with your hats and knitwear on, roaming the woods and cuddling in close. They always make the most delicious Christmas presents for grandparents, godparents, aunties and uncles and are a brilliant way to capture a snapshot of your family.
Christmas is such a magical time, the build up we have with the children is what makes it so special. I enjoy changing the bookshelf over for my 4yearold and reading a different wintry themed tale every night before bed. I also love capturing families during my Christmas mini sessions.
These sessions differ each year…sometimes I have a little prop setup in the woods, one year I’ve had Christmas mugs made for the children to take away and make their own hot chocolate’s, and writing stations for them to write a letter to Father Christmas. This year was the year of the sparklers. We lit sparklers whilst making a Christmas wish.
Whatever Christmas traditions you have with your family…baking your own mince pies, painting Christmas scenes, making your own Christmas cards- add having a wintry photos to the mix (even if you are taking them yourself). The wintry images are next level, make beautiful Christmas presents that aren’t sent to landfill…and, most importantly, act as time capsule for all your Christmases together when your children felt the magic of Christmas.
