As a Sheffield newborn photographer, I am always so honoured to be able to capture the start of a family’s journey with a beautiful newborn photography session.
On this occasion, I had the pleasure of welcoming baby Bella and her family to my home on the outskirts of Sheffield to photograph her and her family here. It was such a special moment to witness the beginnings of love between newborn baby, Bella and her family, and I was delighted to be able to capture this moment in time.
As a newborn photographer, I strive to capture the unique story of each baby and their family, and this session was no exception.

Not only is photography a wonderful way to document this beautiful moment, but these images will always be a way to go back to this time, and for little Bella a way for her to see herself as a newborn baby with her parents.

These sessions are about capturing the moments that make up your story- the yawns, the sleepy eyes, the tender embrace of a parent holding their baby. Each photograph is a moment frozen in time, a treasured memory of what life was like in those first few weeks of your baby’s life.

In these sessions there are no staged moments or fancy lighting setups, just real natural photos that capture the beauty and emotion of those first few days with a newborn. A beautiful photographic story of these first few weeks will become treasured keepsakes, remembered and cherished for years to come.
Capturing the Details of your Newborn
Newborn photography is all about capturing those special details that make your baby unique. During your session I will focus on capturing the little wrinkles in their skin, the way their bottom lip puckers when they are sleeping, and the comforting way you hold them while they are feeding. All these details are important parts to your story, and I want to capture them in a way that will be meaningful to you and your family- just like I did for Bella here.
I set up props, blankets and outfits so we can style your session that’s perfect for your babies skin tone and take your images with various angles and depth – I want each image to convey an emotion or feeling that you can look back at fondly for years to come.
The only thing more magical than seeing photos from your newborn’s first few days in this world is looking back at them many years later as reminders of this time spent together.
The Emotion of it all
When it comes to newborn photography, there is no denying that this is a very special and emotional time. Parents look forward to having their baby photographed, and the excitement and anticipation of receiving your gallery is palpable. But we all know there’s a deeper meaning in booking in these sessions; these images are actually for our children. We are giving them a time capsule to always have a way to go back and see themselves exactly how life was at certain times that they otherwise won’t remember.
To ensure that our sessions remain relaxed please don’t worry about time- there is no need to rush. Take your time to enjoy these moments, give your baby plenty of cuddles and feeding breaks. If we are in my home relax and enjoy your cup of tea too, I always have music playing and a candle burning for you to unwind. We’ll work to your baby’s pace so everyone can stay relaxed and enjoy the experience. And of course at the end you’ll have a set of beautiful images capturing all of the emotion you are feeling at this moment in time…perfect for keeping forever!
