This policy explains what information this website collects, why, and what your rights are. It covers alexandriafrenchphotography.com and the enquiry form on it.
Who I am
This website belongs to Alexandria French Photography, a wedding photographer based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. I am responsible for the personal information collected through it. What I collect
When you send an enquiry. The enquiry form asks for your name, email address and phone number, and optionally what you are enquiring about, your date, your location and a message. Your enquiry is saved securely in this website's database and sent to my email inbox so I can reply. I also get a notification on my phone with your name and what you are enquiring about.
When you visit the website. The website keeps simple visit statistics of its own: the page you viewed, the site that sent you here, your browser type and a scrambled code made from your IP address that changes every day and cannot be turned back into the address. No cookies are used for this and it cannot identify you.
Google Analytics, only if you accept cookies. If you choose Accept on the cookie banner, Google Analytics sets cookies to help me understand how people find and use the website, such as which pages are popular and roughly where visitors are. If you choose Decline, no analytics cookies are set. See the cookie policy for the details.
Why I use it, and the lawful basis
I use your enquiry details to reply to you, answer your questions and, if you want to go ahead, arrange your booking. The lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract with you.
I use Google Analytics only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from the cookie policy page. The website's own visit statistics rely on my legitimate interest in keeping the website working well, and they do not identify anyone.
I will never sell your information or use it for anything you would not reasonably expect. I do not send marketing emails from this website.
Who else handles it
A few trusted services help run the website. They only use your information to provide their service to me:
- 20i, which hosts the website and its database in the UK.
- Microsoft (Outlook), which provides the email inbox your enquiry is sent to.
- Google, which provides Google Analytics (only if you accept cookies) and the fonts used on the website. When your browser loads the fonts, Google receives your IP address, as with any website you visit.
Some of these companies may process information outside the UK. Where they do, they use the safeguards required by UK data protection law.
How long I keep it
I keep enquiries for as long as I need them to reply to you and, if you book, to deliver your photography and meet my legal and accounting obligations. If you do not book, your enquiry is deleted once it is no longer needed. Google Analytics keeps its data for no more than 14 months. You can ask me to delete your information at any time.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information I hold about you
- ask me to correct anything that is wrong
- ask me to delete your information
- ask me to restrict or stop using it, or object to how it is used
- ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere
- withdraw your consent to analytics cookies at any time

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. I would appreciate the chance to put things right first, so please get in touch.
Changes to this policy
If I change how the website uses your information, I will update this page and the date at the top.
