Summer wedding at the beautiful Eden Barn

Photographing Clare and David’s day in my unobtrusive way meant that I could capture their whole day authentically and give them a finished gallery that would be an everlasting reminder of how their day felt.

Clare & David had an elegant English country wedding at Eden Barn in Little Musgrave, Cumbria. The barn was perfect for the backdrop to their day with the most beautiful wild flower field across the country lane which worked perfectly for their couple portraits.

Being a wedding photographer I am always on the look out for the perfect spot for couple portraits. Sometimes the weather isn’t on our side, but Clare and David struck gold with a sunny summer day that wasn’t too hot. Michael, the videographer, had previously worked at Eden Barn and mentioned the field across the lane and the lovely staff at Eden Barn took us over to see what we would be working with. It really was the most beautiful spot with sheep in the distance and a small fresh water stream running through the field.

Clare and David remained traditional with their wedding day timeline. Clare had hair and makeup with her bridesmaids and mother of the bride and groom in the getting ready pamper room on site, a wide open space perfect for the girls to pop some fizz and have a little dance to their favourite songs. David arrived before the guests with his best men and were ready to great guests as they arrived.

The ceremony was a time of lots of happy tears and a very emotional little ring-bearer (David’s nephew) who was overcome with emotion during the ceremony.

Guests circulated during cocktail hour nibbling on canapés and enjoying their time together whilst the amazing staff at Eden Barn turned the room around ready for speeches and the wedding breakfast. This was a perfect time to whisk this lovely couple away to the wild flower field for some portraits. Clare’s dad brought his camera along and followed us into the field too- it was so touching seeing how important these photographs were to him too.

Such a beautiful day for a beautiful couple. It was a pleasure to be their wedding photographer for the day and to capture their whole day in my unobtrusive style so that they had a gallery that was authentic to how their wedding day felt.
